Kimi Antonelli commented on the barrage of criticism he received on social media after the Qatar GP and admitted that the public reaction shook him. The pilot stated that it was difficult to deal with comments that accused him of having made a rival’s life easier — something that, according to him, he would never do.

“I was competing for third place, pushing the pace and trying to get into Sainz’s DRS. After so many laps in dirty air, pushing at the limit, the mistake ended up happening”, he explained. For Antonelli, the accusations on the networks went beyond. “Seeing that kind of message after the race really hurt me.”

The driver thanked Red Bull for his position, which came to his defense, and said that he also spoke with the GP team and Max Verstappen to clarify any misunderstandings. “I can’t repeat exactly what Max said because there were some bad words,” he joked. “But in short, he told me not to pay attention to those kinds of people, because they have no brains.”
