Racing Bulls arrives in Abu Dhabi with full focus on closing the 2025 Formula 1 season, after a frustrating end to the race at the Qatar GP.
Even with a good performance throughout the weekend, Isack Hadjar regretted the lost opportunity to finish sixth, but remains confident for the last race of the year, highlighting the team’s consistency and the good speed of the car: “We arrived in Abu Dhabi after a frustrating end to the race for us in Qatar, where we showed our speed consistently and could have achieved another P6. I am convinced that our car will allow us to fight for another Q3 and points, and that is definitely our objective for the last race of the season. I really want to finish the season with Racing Bulls on a high, and I will do my absolute best to make this the most memorable weekend for all of us,” he said.
For his part, Liam Lawson was also excited about the chance to close the season with a good performance: “I’m really excited to finish the season in Abu Dhabi, after a good result last weekend. It’s an extremely fun track, which I raced on for the first time in 2021. We had a good race pace in Qatar, and we hope to carry that into the last race, as we continue our fight for P6 in the constructors’ championship”, he added.
Tim Goss, technical director of Racing Bulls, also spoke about the challenges the team will face in Abu Dhabi. He highlighted the intense fight for sixth place in the constructors’ championship with Aston Martin and the importance of the versatility of the VCARB 02, which, according to Goss, is capable of adapting well to different types of circuit: “After a long season, we approach the end of 2025 at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. All eyes will be on the fight for the drivers’ title, but the fight for P6 in the constructors’ championship with Aston Martin is also crucial. The track has a good mix of long straights and high and low speed curves, which require the car to have strengths in all areas. We are very familiar with VCARB 02 and how to get the most out of it. We hope that Max (Verstappen) and our sister team (Red Bull Racing) maintain the momentum to achieve their goals, but our mission is to fully focus on our work and close sixth place in the constructors’ championship for Visa Cash App Racing Bulls”, he added.
